    Crestline Hotels & Resorts, LLC is currently on the hunt for a Complex Director of Revenue Management. The ultimate mission of this role will be to optimize room revenue by developing and implementing effective inventory management and pricing strategies for two Marriott brand hotels under construction in Washington DC.

    This position will be remote-based, but will travel to the hotel infrequently. 

    This is a phenomenal opportunity to drive results for two new hotels near the convention center.

     

     

    Hotel Description:

    The Courtyard and Residence Inn Washington Downtown/Convention Center is a brand new build in the heart of downtown Washington, DC set to open in September 2018. Located steps from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center and CityCenter DC the hotel is a combined 504 guest rooms and suites with over 10,000 square feet of meeting space. Meeting and event space includes a 4th floor terrace, rooftop terrace and three unique hospitality suites with unique and high end finishes to attract both the leisure and corporate traveler. The complex is a unique combination of the Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott brands that guests know and love, with upgraded features such as a rooftop fitness center and yoga area and an on-site full service restaurant and bar, as well as a custom guest room design package. As a part of the pre-opening sales team, the sales manager will be an integral part in helping to establish and grow their client base during an exciting time in the hotel’s pre-opening phase.

    Responsibilities

    Key Accountabilities for this position will be:

    • Formulate and deploy transient/group inventory restrictions and pricing strategies, utilizing Strategy Reports and Rate Strategy Analysis, designed to maximize revenue from a rate and occupancy perspective.  Consult with Sales Managers on rate/inventory suitability of all potential group business.
    • Prepare and facilitate the Weekly Sales Strategy meetings and Daily Business Review (REVMAX) meetings.  Analyze data and make recommended strategies to the group and implement agreed upon changes as soon as possible after the meetings.
    • Evaluate all group bookings and provide qualified analysis of how each booking will impact occupancy, average rate and rooms profit over the dates in question.
    • Manage group block activity.  Responsible for management of group cutoff dates, securing and reviewing all rooming lists, monitoring group block activity (i.e., pickup, wash).  When necessary or appropriate, communicate with group contacts and/or housing bureaus.
    • Manage the input of data and report generation in the Sales Management systems.  Analyze End of Month Reports and critique prior strategies.
    • Manage/monitor Central Reservations System, Global Distribution Systems and third party sites to maintain consistency with property level inventory strategies and align with Crestline Hotel & Resorts Best Available Rate (BAR) pricing philosophy.
    • Complete short and long term forecasts; analyze trends in group inventories & rates to include occupancy, goals, product line and strategic sales goals.
    • Analyze and monitor marketing channels, key and other account production. Ensure that all major channels of distribution ' Internet, GDS, CRO, Wholesale ' effectively support the hotel and maintain rate parity.
    • Update all channels of distribution as needed with rate or inventory restrictions.
    • Establish appropriate goals and benchmarks in order to effectively measure performance.
    • Monitor and analyze the competition weekly through competitive shops, internet, news reports to identify selling strategies and emerging trends.
    • Utilize various industry intelligence tools to identify new potential accounts for the hotel.
    • Explore and provide variations in the market mix which would stimulate additional revenue without increasing costs.

     

    Other Function

    • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.  In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
    • Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Crestline Hotels & Resorts rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel’s facilities. 

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college in a related field plus at least 3 years of related experience; or high school diploma or GED plus 5 years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the above knowledge, skills and abilities.

    • Knowledge of hospitality sales, marketing and other revenue management functions to include research, planning, market positioning, market segments, internal marketing, distribution channels, sales management, reservations and yield management.

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
    •  
    • Proficient at statistical and competitive analysis.
    •  
    • Individual with high energy and a positive attitude is a must. Must be guest service and team oriented.

    • Strong interpersonal skills and possession of a full understanding of professional business ethics, decorum and social skills.

    • Ability to effectively analyze and use operational, financial, and marketing data to maintain and improve market share/penetration goals.
    •  
    • Prefer candidate with Marriott experience and One Yield Version 2 Certification.  Comparable brand revenue systems experience will be considered.
