Crestline Hotels & Resorts is currently hiring for an Area Vice President of Operations – Mid-Atlantic Region. The ultimate mission of this role will be to provide unparalleled operational guidance over a branded portfolio (Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt) of 10-15 Select Service, Extended Stay and/or Full Service hotels. Your ability to influence change, work across the organization, and have strong follow-through are critical.

 

This individual will oversee the Mid-Atlantic Region with specific focus on the greater Washington, DC/ Maryland/ and Northern Virginia territory. Candidates living in a major city in these areas is strongly preferred. 70–80% travel is required.

 

This is a phenomenal role for someone who is currently an Area General Manager, Regional Director or a highly experienced General Manager within a complex/dynamic hotel looking to go to the next level!

strong predictor of success for the Area Vice President of Operations will be the ability to: 

  • Balance strategic long-term planning with short-term execution in the region – your ability to balance the two amongst multiple hotels is critical
  • Develop cohesion with each Hotel’s General Manager and staff in order to maximize each one’s potential
  • Successfully partner with Hotel Ownership, all key Operations Executives, and Crestline as a whole to include both field and corporate staff
  • Ability to analyze and influence Market Share, Margin Growth and Guest Satisfaction

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assess the performance of each property’s leadership team
  • Evaluate progress and ensure accountability against defined goals and action plans, Review the property’s financial performance through a comprehensive review of the operating statement, the forecast, labor management and expense tracking tools, etc.
  • Engage in and evaluate the effectiveness of the sales and revenue management processes
  • Evaluate the guest experience by observing and interacting with guests and employees and by reviewing Brand performance reports, TripAdvisor rankings, etc.
  • Assess the level of employee satisfaction by speaking with employees at all levels and by reviewing reports such as the Associate Opinion Survey and employee turnover results
  • Monitor all PIP and Capital Improvement projects that are occurring on property to ensure that acceptable levels of quality are maintained and to minimize business disruption – i.e. revenue displacement as well as guest satisfaction. Ensure Ownership is briefed accordingly.
  • Conduct Property visits a minimum of 4X annually and more frequently for focus hotels.  Document, distribute and archive findings for timely follow-up.

Qualifications

Experience/Education:

  • Must have a solid six (6) to eight (8) years of previous General Manager experience within a Select Service and/or Extended Stay property; Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university/college.
  • Previous Area or Regional experience is critical
  • Strong Computer skills required – must have the ability to communicate effectively through email as well as manipulate and decipher information quickly from spreadsheets and databases
  • Experience with hotel information systems required
  • Strong financial acumen – as the leader of a portfolio of multi-million dollar business units, you must have a strong understanding of Hotel financials (P&L), STR reports, and other critical financial and guest satisfaction measurements
